NPANA Board Member Elections 2022 results

Thank you for participating in this past elections. Here is a short bio on each elected and re-elected Board Member for this coming Fall 2022:

Gavin Cregan, RN, CPAN, upcoming new Vice-President/President-Elect
Gavin has been a nurse for 22 years now and has dabbled in everything from ICU and PICU to being a school nurse for the Department of Defense. He worked primarily Pediatric PACU for the last 14 years at Providence Sacred Heart Children's Hospital in Spokane. Gavin has a strong interest in the science of pain and pain management, especially using adjunct modalities and the how pain impacts safety as well as patient and family satisfaction with healthcare.
Gavin would like to help advance continuing education in pain management and appropriate expectations of pain management and sedation to nurses, patients, and families everywhere in the healthcare setting. He believes that NPANA, ASPAN, and nursing organizations in general are critical for advancing the delivery of healthcare in positive way.

Meg Spaulding, BSN, RN, re-elected Treasurer
Meg has been a nurse for 37 years, working in med-surg, float pool, pediatrics, and emergency rooms in Washington. The last 17 years have been in perioperative and interventional services. She enjoys working with patients and families and doing patient teaching to help them be able to care for themselves at home. She has served on Unit Committees to tackle specific problems and enjoys being a super-user trainer for the electronic medical record system. When not spoiling her two cats, she enjoys gardening, short hikes with her husband, weaving, and traveling. She has served as NPANA treasurer since September 2020, and is proud of how much she has been able to accomplish in this role.
- Nereyda (Nery) Leder, BNS, RN, CPAN, re-elected Communications Coordinator
Nery has been a nurse for 12 years with the last 7 years in the PACU setting in Oregon. She learned about NPANA by a coworker and attended her first NPANA fall conference in Seattle about 5 years ago. Since then, she has enjoyed participating in the various learning opportunities offered by ASPAN and NPANA. She first became involved with NPANA by becoming the Off-the-Cuff Newsletter Editor in the fall of 2019. Then, joined the NPANA Board as the Communication Coordinator in September of 2020.
Her goals for this upcoming term is to continue to improve NPANA’s social media presence. Submit again the Off-the-Cuff Newsletter to the ASPAN Component Newsletter. And continue to work on sharing the great projects and accomplishment from members across all 5 states through the various communication platforms.
