Lets welcome our 2 newly elected Board Members: Lisa Spragins and Nina Every

    Lisa Spragins, MSN, RN, CNL, CPPS, CPAN, CAPA

NPANA Education Coordinator 2022-2024

Lisa is a Master’s prepared registered nurse with board certification as a Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL). Her scope of practice includes the roles of leader, researcher, consultant, clinical expert, educator, facilitator, change agent, advocate, outcomes manager, and systems/risk analyst. She has 25 years of proven nursing experience in quality/patient safety, perianesthesia, oncology, and medical/surgical nursing. Her experience covers tertiary acute care hospitals and ambulatory office clinics. Her peers have described her as organized, flexible, self-motivated, efficient, goal-oriented, and calm under pressure. 
She has been an active member of ASPAN since 2008. She joined NPANA in November of 2020 when she moved to Seattle, WA from Atlanta, GA. Prior to joining NPANA, she was active in the ASPAN region 5 component, GAPAN. Lisa has previously served in the various roles of Vice-President, Secretary, Historian, Social Media Planner, and State Conference Coordinator for GAPAN. She currently is dual certified in perianesthesia (CPAN & CAPA), patient safety (CPPS), and Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL). Her skills in effective communication, leadership, education, lateral integration, critical thinking, cause analysis, and continual process improvement have contributed to safe quality care and enhanced clinical outcomes within perianesthesia. 
In 2020, she became the Vice-Coordinator for the ASPAN Advanced Degree Specialty Practice Group (ADSPG). She will assume the Coordinator role in August 2021. She is also involved with other professional organizations like ABPANC, AACN, ANPD, CNLA, ASPSS, and IHI. Currently, she works as a Clinical Professional Development Specialist in the perianesthesia areas of a local community hospital in Kirkland, WA. Her goals for NPANA are to advance members through continuing education, community service, and research.


      Nina Every, BSN, RN, CPAN

NPANA Secretary 2022-2024

Nina has been a peri-anesthesia nurse for 6 years and an NPANA member for the past 4 years.  She is currently involved in the Quality Committee at her hospital, where she works as a PACU nurse.  In the past, Nina has been very involved in her department as a Preceptor to new nurses and Quality Committee projects regarding skin issues on patients and promoting staff education and prevention. Her goals for NPANA are to continue to promote the education and resources available to peri-operative professionals provided by NPANA.

We are very excited to have these wonderful nurses join us in this journey and very much grateful for their willingness to serve!  When we meet in person this coming fall, please take the time to say hello and get to know them more.
